AI Policy

No work produced by Alex Ward (me, Cthos) uses of Generative AI in any form. None of my blog posts on either this site, or my TTRPG Site (https://cthonicstudios.com) are produced using generative AI. None of my games on itch.io or DrivethruRPG make use of it either. None of my Fiction Writing, either.

In short, I will not use Generative AI for my work and am actively avoiding it for as long as I can.

I have come to loathe LLMs and Diffusion models and everything they have done to the environment, economy, and people's minds.

Some products and blog posts use stock art. I take care to not select generative images, though I do continually worry something not labeled as generative AI might slip through (they're currently pretty obvious though, so I think I'm pretty good at spotting them).

The site is behind Bunny CDN using bot protection and does make some attempt at blocking AI bots.

In the past, I have used generative AI tools to make a point about whether they do what their sellers claim (see: How I'm approaching Generative AI and Generative AI for Coding). I have stopped this practice and do not intend to make any further posts debunking generative AI usage, as I find the whole industry and premise abhorrent and unethical. I have written numerous times about this and the industry has only gotten worse.

I've written a Generative AI FAQ to cover the questions I get asked about this technology.
